Dropping standing order for Chilton repair sets

September 8, 2011

I recently reviewed the status of the circulating copies of the individual volumes from the sets of Chilton auto repair manuals.  Almost all the the circulating copies from 2005 on are lost or missing.  Many of the items had only a few circulations.  I cannot replace older volumes from this series.

We now have two excellent databases on automotive repair – All-Data Auto Repair and Auto Repair Reference Center.

I will no longer be purchasing Chilton manuals to circulate.  I will continue to buy repair books for individual cars.  The Haynes repair guides provide more detail on specific models, cost less, and are popular with our customers.
