Read ‘Em and Readum

April 6, 2011

PW Daily introduces a new social networking tool (Readum) that can be downloaded to your browser and allows you to comment on your Google eBooks library and share commentary on your Facebook page.  There is a jazzy video clip at the bottom of the article that provides some more explanation.  This could be a great way for students and authors to collaborate on join projects, as well as another interactive reading experience.  It also seems to usher in a new era where the line between reading and writing might get a little fuzzier. What a world.

Speaking of reader interaction, I just registered to write reviews on our catalog and have enjoyed spotting some customer comment.  This is such an enhancement to searching the catalog that you could lose yourself and forget all about retrieving the actual materials.
