History/Biography:The Big Burn: Teddy Roosevelt and the Fire That Saved America” by Timothy Egan
General nonfiction:Naming Nature: The Clash Between Instinct and Science” by Carol Kaesuk Yoon

The Scandiuzzi Children’s Book Awards:

Picture book:Before You Were Here, Mi Amor” by Samantha Vamos, illustrated by Santiago Cohen
Early readers:The Magical Ms. Plum” by Bonny Becker
Middle grades and young adults:Brutal” by Michael Harmon

    I really enjoyed the Big Burn. I listened to it as I traveled through North Idaho where the fires started.
