“One Day,” aka my big oops!

July 8, 2010

please note that the British bestseller “One Day” by David Nicholls was severely underbought by this selector (for the record, 2 copies was more than sufficient for his other titles in the catalogue – do i sound defensive?).  happily, this title is available in the Best Bets collection so look for it there until we get the holds to copy ratio back in order.  thanks!

  1. Marin;

    You are certainly not the only one. Looks like most buyers did not anticipate the demand for this one. Often British best sellers do not translate to the U.S. This looks like one of the rare exceptions.

    I know your blog is for staff members at Sno-Isle, but I read it (at a medium public library in Ohio) because you have so many great insights. Don’t feel bad about this one–many of us missed it. One of those word-of-mouth things… We all bought only one copy of The Help when it was first out!
