Carrie Fisher’s “Wishful Drinking” on HBO

June 9, 2010

Entertainment Weekly posted that HBO will be making a documentary of Carrie Fisher’s one-woman stage show and 2008 book Wishful drinking (Carrie Fisher’s ‘Wishful Drinking’ to be made into HBO documentary).  The documentary will include “family interviews and archival footage from her life”.  The LA Times also posted about this in Carrie Fisher’s ‘Wishful Drinking’ heading to HBO.

The summary from our catalog for the CD version:

Carrie Fisher, forever immortalized by her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, reveals her turbulent life, from her superficial Hollywood upbringing to her addiction to alcohol. With scathing humor, Fisher chronicles her declining acting career and subsequent tribulations, including mothering the child of a gay man.

Fisher was interviewed before her Broadway production of the show at Studio 54:

I saw Fisher’s show when it was here in Seattle last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I’ve read the book.  I’ve listened to the wonderful CD Book which is read by Fisher.  Do I sound like a fan?

This documentary sounds like a must-see for me.
