several reviews mention that Koryta’s latest, “So Cold the River,” is a departure from his usual noir.  the LJ prepub alert sums it up with

in the below video, Koryta talks about the West Baden Springs Hotel, the inspiration for the book.

fans of Stephen King and Peter Straub are expected to enjoy this work of supernatural horror.
