more bloody vampires

May 18, 2010

this time in the form of Christopher Farnsworth’s “Blood Oath.”  from the Booklist review (May 2010 #1):

In his thrilling debut, Farnsworth combines the current trend of supernatural fiction with the always popular political thriller. The president’s most loyal secret agent is Cade, a 140-year-old vampire who is dedicated to protecting the U.S. from supernatural threats.

the requisite gravelly voiced book trailer is below.

not surprisingly, Farnsworth has sold the rights to “Blood Oath” and the follow-up, a work in progress, to Warp Films which produced “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and numerous other films.  Farnsworth will develop the script in conjunction with a screenwriter  (via GalleyCat).

Sounds much more intense than “Dick & Jane and Vampires” due out August 26. I guess this vampire craze isn’t a fad…

no fad here, though certainly a jump in visibility. it’s on the way Kelli.
