check your shelves

December 29, 2009

Abe Books compiled the most collectible books of the decade.  coming in at #1 is the original edition of J. K. Rowling’s “Tales of the Beetle Bard,” only 7 were made.  in 2007 at a charity auction, Amazon purchased the only available copy for £1,950,000 ($3.112785 million U.S. dollars).

the rest of the list is somewhat eclectic, though it’s not surprising that signed editions from the likes of Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Cormac McCarthy, and Bill Clinton add value.  all but 4 of the 35 are fiction.
