Wally Lamb’s newest tomb, a whopping 739 pages, is the long awaited “The Hour I First Believed.”  it’s been 10 years since “I Know This Much is True.”  the publicity machine begins with Lamb’s interview in Publisher’s Weekly, a 15-city book tour, and a video reiterating some of the information from the aforementioned interview.  his latest was inspired by many events including writing workshops with women in a correctional institute, a school shooting, and mythology.  The novel’s first line: “My mother was a convicted felon, a manic depressive, and Miss Rheingold of 1950.”

bet Oprah received an ARC in the mail….
